Year 2008-09

GIDB has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation ( Government of India ) for 4 early bird projects . The details are as follows;

• Sarkhej-Vataman-Pimpli-Dholera-Bhavnagar road ( 6 laning ). The Government of India has accorded in-principle consent for Viability Gap funding for this road project. The Request for Qualification has been invited and bidding is under way. The work related to utility shifting and land acquisition is under progress.
• The team of Airport Authority of India visited the site proposed for International Airport. The feasibility study is undertaken. The State Government has already reserved required land for the development of International Airport and notification for the same is issued.
• The detailed project report for the development of Metro Rail from Ahmedabad to Dholera in progress. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been awarded the study.
• A special purpose company to carry out the development of DMIC has been incorporated ( Gujarat Industrial Corridor Corporation ).
• The feasibility study for the development of Industrial Park is undertaken.
