A high impact area of within 150 Km distance on both side of the WDFC is identified as ‘Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor’ (DMIC). DMIC is intended to be the manufacturing hub serviced with world class infrastructure. Total 24 industrial nodes are identified across the DMIC out of which 6 nodes as enumerated below falls within the State of Gujarat.

Out of 6 nodes, 2 Industrial Regions i.e. Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) & Gujarat petroleum, Chemical & Petrochemical Special Investment Region (GPCPSIR) have been notified by the State Government under the Gujarat Special Investment Region Act-2009 and ‘Development Plan’ for both of them are already sanctioned by the State Government. The implementation of ‘Development Plan’ would be undertaken through Town Planning Mechanism as prevalent in the State of Gujarat.
The vision for DMIC is to create strong economic base with globally competitive environment and state of the art infrastructure to activate local commerce, enhance foreign investments and attain sustainable development.
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is conceived as a Model Industrial Corridor of international standards with emphasis on expanding the manufacturing and services base and develop DMIC as the 'Global Manufacturing and Trading Hub'.

GIDB: Nodal Agency for DMIC Projects
GIDB is declared as Nodal Agency for the projects falling under Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor for the State of Gujarat by DMICDC. The Nodal agency is functioning as coordinating body. DMIC Cell has been set up at GIDB for the same. GIDB as nodal agency undertakes various studies with respect to techno economic feasibility of the projects, environmental and social assessment, vulnerability and hazard assessment etc.
