Greenfield Ports under Port Policy

 
Out of 10 Greenfield ports identified in the port policy, developers for the 5 ports viz. Maroli, Vansiborsi, Simar, Bedi and Mithivirdi were to be selected. The efforts were initiated to select developer since 2005-06. In response, many companies had shown interest in development of ports. The procedure of EOI, RFQ and RFP has been completed. The details of ports are as under:

1 Maroli 2000 GMB has been directed by GOG to invite fresh EOI from private companies. GMB has initiated actions to engage consultant to provide Transaction Advisory Services.
  • Container and Bulk cargo berth
  • Port capacity – 10 MMTPA
2 Chhara 1200 LOI is Issued to M/s. Sapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. DPR is submitted by company and under scrutiny. Land Acquisition is initiated by GMB
  • Two berths for solid bulk cargo
  • Port capacity – 8 MMTPA
3 Vansiborsi 1775 Bids invited but the same was cancelled by GOG and directed GMB to carry out fresh PFR in view of passing of ONGC Gas pipeline.
  • 4 berths for solid and liquid cargo
  • Port capacity 14 MMTPA
4 Mithivirdi 480 Bids invited but the same was cancelled by GOG in view of proposed nuclear power plant by GOI at the same location -
5 Bedi 830 Bids are under consideration at GOG level.
  • 2 berths for solid cargo.
  • Capacity 10 MMTPA
